Computer scientist at IBM 3D print working ant-heart

Ants across the globe have been given a new lease on life this week, after researchers at IBM’s 3D printing lab successfully 3D printed a working ant-heart based on research from the Berkley Institute of Veterinary Printing.

Researchers are hopeful this breakthrough in ant healthcare will someday be able to be scaled up to save even larger animals, from mice, to dogs, to gorillas, though those involved in the study say they are years if not decades off such developments, putting aside the ethical dilemma that is presented when it comes to working with IBM.

This story will be updated with more details as they emerge.
